Heavy Metals Detox Step One

My husband and I are detoxing now.

How this came about: Toward the end of last year, Dr. Irene Valencia, a Naturopathic Doctor in my Santa Cruz Women's Leads Club, spoke on the subject of heavy metals being stored in our fat cells. One of her clients whom she is helping detox happens to be in the automotive industry - just like me. In his case he had just about lost all clear thinking. (Don't worry, he is regaining much of his mental abilities during his past six months of detoxification.)

My interest was piqued and I was noticing a few things about myself and the way I operated in the world. One thing - my memory for people's names is starting to slip. I seem to have started having adverse reactions to all kinds of smells/odors. Enough to affect me physically and often resulting in specific point headaches - boom! I am not one for getting headaches. I also noticed that my pesky cold keeps re-occurring - or did it ever leave?

The Pee Test: I set up an appointment with Dr. Valencia for both Henry and I to get started with testing to see if we have any heavy metals lurking in our bodies. The testing is pretty simple. Depending on how much you weigh, you take a certain amount of Captomer-DMSA and collect your urine over the course of 6 hours. Then 'shake, not stir' to thoroughly mix the pee and pour off a sample to be fed-exed to the Doctor's Data folks who then test it and send the results back to the naturopathic clinic.

What metals? Aluminum, Antimony, Arsenic, Barium, Beryllium, Bismuth, Cadmium, Cesium, Gadolinium, Lead, Mercury, Nickel, Palladium, Platinum, Tellurium, Thallium, Thorium, Tin, Titanium, Tungsten and Uranium. WOW! Fortunately, both Henry and I only tested high in Lead and Mercury. This test was only $60 per person (twice as much if put through your insurance.)

After taking the test (on January 30, 2011) we followed it with a Glutathione IV to help rebalance our bodies after 'toxifying' our selves with the captomer. We did feel a little spacey during the urine test regime. But the IV was just the ticket to set us back to right.
